Multi-unit Restaurant Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR initiatives across our footprint of company-owned and operated locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the overall business objectives. As the Director of HR, you will play a crucial role in fostering our Work culture we strive for, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting the organization's management and employee relations efforts. Candidates must be based in VA and report to an office setting located at 1051 E Cary Street Richmond, VA 23219.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Serve as a key business partner to the Owners/Founders, CFO, and the ops leadership team, ensuring people strategies are in place to enable success
- Build a strategic people plan for organization that guides initiatives and efforts in the near, medium, and long term
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business goals of the restaurant.
- Work closely with senior management to identify and address HR-related challenges and opportunities.
Employee Relations:
- Design, implement, and administer HR policies and procedures across the organization
- Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations strategies.
- Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
Performance Management:
- Design and implement performance management programs to drive employee development
- Provide guidance to managers on performance evaluations, feedback, and improvement plans
Compliance And Legal:
- Partner with ops leadership and legal counsel to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws
- Keep abreast of changes in labor regulations and ensure HR policies and procedures reflect accordingly
Training And Development:
- Assess, identify, and support approach to associate and leadership training & development needs
- Support career development initiatives to enhance employee skills and capabilities
HR Metrics And Reporting:
- Partner with HR and business leadership team to establish HR metrics that measure the effectiveness of people initiatives and performance
- Provide regular reports including insights and recommendations to executive leadership on people trends, challenges, and opportunities
Qualifications:
- Experience & Expertise in HR compliance, audits, systems, implementations
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HR leader, with a focus on restaurants
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to travel to various locations as needed
